my blog is back! + China report #1

Arrived in Seoul. Enjoying the night in relax (finally!) and realized that this is already the 3rd city that I'm visiting within a week.
It's been very hectic, but incredible experience to learn about the country and the truth of women, everyday is an excitement of new discovery ;)

I miss China already. How poweful and energetic the contry is. It was great to be back and see the big changes of city and people.
Beijing and Shanghai are very different. Beijing is broad but single-mind. Shanghai is opposite. It is condensed but more flexible and diversified, people are very open-mind to try and accept new things. It is full of energy circulating in the city. Shanghai is most competitive city in China, people come to Shanghai aiming for success. A new term called 新上海人 (new Shanghainese) who came from outside of Shanghai to study/work and they became a big part of leading Shanghai business now.

And yet,In China, sports is still underestimated in general especially for female sports. People think that sports is for those who are not smart and no education due to financial difficulty.
And in many schools, they separate students in academic and sports class and give different education. Sports students have no choice to say yes/no unless they get good grades. It is a tough situation to get respect and they are having a big pressure to overcome the situation.
We interviewed women who passed the exam for university.(they got extra points for entering school.) They are facing the same problem and all said that education is very important for successful career. They study and train very hard to compete academic students. Sports to them is a big deal to bring an opportunity to enter the university and give a strength and confidence to overcome the pressure.

(the below note was put on the door, it says "I didn't do good for the exam because I didn't study hard enough.. I promise that I am going to study harder to get better grades for next exam.")
